India is taking significant steps toward making its own commercial aircraft with the inauguration of the Tata-Airbus plant in Vadodara.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Spanish President Pedro Sanchez, highlighted the rapid growth of India's aviation sector. The Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) facility will initially manufacture 40 C-295 military transport aircraft in partnership with Airbus, with 16 aircraft being imported from Spain. This factory aims to develop a self-sustaining ecosystem for future civil aircraft, positioning India as a potential aviation hub.
