Tata Advanced Systems Ltd (TASL) is establishing its first defence manufacturing facility outside India, located in Casablanca, Morocco. The plant will initially produce Wheeled Armoured Platforms (WhAP) for the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces. This project is a major step in India’s defence export strategy, targeting the growing African market. The facility will generate around 350 jobs and aims to produce 100 combat vehicles annually. TASL’s CEO, Sukaran Singh, highlighted this venture as a launch point into Africa’s defence sector. The plant is expected to be operational within a year.
