Tesla Sales Plunge 45% in Europe: What's Happening?

Tesla Inc. faced a dramatic 45% drop in sales across Europe last month as rival carmakers reported a sharp increase in electric vehicle (EV) demand. Tesla sold only 9,945 cars in January, down from 18,161 a year earlier. This decline coincides with CEO Elon Musk's controversial political involvement, including support for far-right parties, which may have affected the brand's image. In Germany and France, Tesla's sales saw significant declines of 63% and its lowest totals since 2021. Meanwhile, the overall EV market in Europe grew by 37%, with increased competition from companies like Volkswagen and BYD as they adjust to stricter emissions targets.
