Uber has rolled out new features to enhance driver safety and convenience in India. Female drivers can now choose to accept rides only from female passengers, a first in the industry, which has already facilitated over 21,000 trips.
The app also enables audio recording during trips if drivers feel unsafe, with recordings accessed only when submitted in a safety report. Additionally, Uber has introduced instant cashouts, allowing drivers to withdraw earnings within five seconds, up to four times daily.
