The Indian government is set to introduce the 'Mera Bill Mera Adhikar' scheme, rewarding individuals for uploading GST invoices on a mobile app. This initiative aims to curb GST evasion and encourage compliance. Participants who upload invoices from retailers or wholesalers on the app can win cash prizes ranging from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 1 crore per month/quarter.
The mobile app will be accessible on both iOS and Android platforms, allowing a maximum of 25 genuine invoices per month with a minimum purchase value of Rs 200 each. Over 500 monthly computerized lucky draws, with potential prizes running into lakhs of rupees, are planned. The scheme, conceptualized to stimulate tax-compliant behavior and curb evasion, is expected to launch soon.
