Urgent: Missile Threats in UAE and Qatar

07 Mar, 2026

As tensions in the Middle East escalate, residents of Dubai and Qatar received urgent alerts on their mobile phones regarding potential missile threats. This alarming situation comes as nations worldwide, including India, prepare to evacuate their nationals from the Gulf region. Though Qatar has assured its residents that the threat has been eliminated, anxiety remains over the ongoing conflict.

Countries like Hungary, Italy, Germany, and the Netherlands are actively planning repatriation flights for their citizens stranded in the UAE and Israel. In a similar vein, India announced that it would operate 96 flights to and from the Middle East on Friday, aiming to facilitate the return of its citizens.

The Indian embassy in Qatar has released an advisory specifically for tourists holding the Hayya A1 Visa. The advisory asks these individuals to fill out a form to help ascertain the number of Indian nationals stranded in the country. This effort reflects a proactive approach to ensure the safety of Indian citizens during times of crisis.

Furthermore, a security alert was issued to residents in Dubai, warning them to seek shelter due to potential missile strikes. This alert advised people to stay away from windows and open areas, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation. A similar warning was later sent to residents of Qatar, underlining the widespread concern regarding their safety.

As the conflict in the region intensifies, numerous countries are taking steps to ensure the safe return of their citizens. The situation has also caused significant travel disruptions, with restrictions on airspace becoming a common occurrence. This has made the evacuation process more complicated, reflecting the instability in the region.

Given the gravity of the circumstances, the Indian embassy has activated additional helpline numbers to assist nationals in Qatar. This step aims to provide necessary support and guidance to those who may feel overwhelmed by the situation.

In light of these developments, it's clear that effective communication and swift action are crucial for the safety of Indian nationals abroad. As tensions continue to rise, the commitment of the Indian government to ensure the welfare of its citizens remains steadfast.
