U.S. Fed Cuts Lending Rate by 50 Bps in First Reduction Since 2020

The U.S. Federal Reserve has lowered its key lending rate by 50 basis points, reducing it to a range of 4.75% to 5.00%.

This marks the Fed's first rate cut in over four years, just ahead of the upcoming presidential election. The move aims to reduce borrowing costs, impacting everything from mortgages to credit cards, as inflation eases towards the Fed's 2% target.
