US Government Pushes for Google to Sell Chrome Browser Over Antitrust Concerns

The US Department of Justice (DOJ) is urging Alphabet, Google’s parent company, to sell its popular Chrome browser, claiming it gives Google an unfair edge in search and AI markets.

The DOJ’s move comes after Google was found to illegally dominate the search market. If Judge Amit Mehta agrees, it could significantly impact Google's control over search and AI, including its Gemini AI project. Google’s VP of Regulatory Affairs criticized the action, warning it could hurt consumers and stifle innovation.
