Uttarakhand Chief Minister Dhami Dehradun has announced the development of six Aroma Valleys, aiming to generate over 70,000 jobs and benefit more than 37,000 farmers.
The initiative aims to mitigate human-wildlife conflicts by cultivating aromatic plants, diverting animals with their intense fragrances. Plants like Damask rose and lemongrass are expected to yield higher profits than traditional crops, meeting the growing demand for aromatic products.
The state's focus on aromatic farming aligns with its favorable geography, providing a boost to Agri-tech enterprises in the region. The move follows the establishment of India's first Aroma Park in Kashipur earlier this year.
