Wipro Acquires HARMAN's Digital Solutions for $375 Million

04 Sep, 2025

Wipro Ltd has announced a significant acquisition, entering into an agreement to purchase the Digital Transformation Solutions (DTS) unit of HARMAN for $375 million. This move is aimed at enhancing Wipro's engineering research and development (ER&D) services, marking a strategic step towards delivering next-generation solutions.

The acquisition will see over 5,600 employees from DTS, spanning 14 countries including key leadership, transitioning to Wipro once the deal closes. This transition is expected to take place by December 31, 2025, pending regulatory approvals.

Srini Pallia, CEO and Managing Director of Wipro, stated that the specialized engineering expertise of DTS, when combined with Wipro’s AI-powered consulting capabilities, will significantly enhance the value the company delivers to its clients. He emphasized that the strong presence of DTS in high-growth sectors aligns with Wipro's global strategy, reinforcing its position as a trusted transformation partner.

DTS is recognized for its strong foundation in digital engineering and ER&D, specializing in areas such as domain-led design, connected products, and software platforms. The integration of DTS’s deep engineering with AI-native platforms is expected to facilitate large-scale transformations, designed around human needs, according to Wipro.

Christian Sobottka, CEO of HARMAN, expressed optimism about this agreement, stating that it paves the way for DTS to scale more rapidly and reach a broader client base in critical industries, thereby unlocking its full growth potential.

Headquartered in Connecticut, USA, DTS offers a range of ER&D services, including embedded software, digital engineering, and IT services such as cloud infrastructure, data analytics, and customer experience solutions. The consolidated revenue of DTS for the last three completed years indicates steady growth, with $315 million in 2022, $308 million in 2023, and $314 million in 2024 anticipated, with a significant portion coming from services.

This acquisition not only positions Wipro to expand its capabilities but also highlights the growing trend of technology-driven solutions in the Indian IT landscape, reflecting the increasing demand for innovation across various sectors.
