Zomato is set to launch a new app, 'District,' to enhance its going-out business. The app will let users discover and book restaurants, and tickets for movies, sports, and live performances. CEO Deepinder Goyal highlighted that if executed well, this could become Zomato's third-largest B2C venture.
The dining-out business already boasts a $500M annual GOV and profitability. Zomato aims to integrate existing traffic from its main app to District, minimizing customer acquisition costs. Additionally, Zomato has discussed acquiring Paytm’s movie ticketing and events business to expand further.
